Review & Swatches: My Revlon Lip Butters

I thought I would join in on the trend and post about the biggest hype of the last 5 months - Revlon Lip Butters! This post is dedicated to the 5 that I currently own, but I have a strong feeling that my collection will grow....

Can you pick my favourites just from the two abused stickers? Hahah!
(L-R: Gumdrop, Peach Parfait, Sweet Tart, Lollipop, Berry Smoothie)

These products have been hyped up mostly because they consist of an amazing formula - buttery balm texture with pigmentation that can be just as vibrant as a regular lipstick (some shades more than others).

I own 5 out of the 20 in the collection, and my two favourites so far are Peach Parfait and Berry Smoothie. I will review each colour briefly alongside swatches on my lips, and then an overall swatch on my hand will be at the end.

HERE IS MY NATURAL LIP COLOUR:

I have an odd lip shape (in my opinion anyway). HERE WE GOOOO

GUMDROP

I was attracted to this colour first because I have always been curious by lavender/lilac lips, and wasn't brave enough to try a straight out lipstick. I assumed this formula wouldn't be as extreme and would be safest to try. This is definitely the most sheer lip butter out of my collection, and it is quite shimmery. The texture is smooth (as most of them are) and easy to apply, however this colour needs quite a lot of building. I don't think I can pull it off yet, but as winter approaches and my pale face makes a comeback, we'll see how I go. Looks a bit awkward on me at the moment.

PEACH PARFAIT

In almost every review I read online, this colour is famous for being the one odd lip butter with a strong shimmer in it. This is the only one that I've found feels a bit rougher on the lips, because the glitter can get a bit gritty. However, the only time I REALLY experienced this was when my lips were a bit dry, and the glitter started to grate between my lips and flake off. Overall, I really love the colour of this lip butter and it is one of my favourites because the colour is one of the most wearable.

SWEET TART

I think Sweet Tart is one of the most underrated in the collection. There are barely any reviews on this colour compared to all the others. This colour is probably my third favourite if I had to choose. The colour is a really pretty pink that is appropriate for everyday wear and evening wear. At first I was a little hesitant as the coloured sleeve/lid looked quite fluorescent compared to the rest of the collection, but I discovered it is one of the prettiest colours available and I was surprised at how many people haven't picked it up. This is a definite recommendation!! This shade is also matte and super pigmented!

LOLLIPOP

Well, what can I say - definitely one of the most talked about shades in the collection, and famous for its OUTSTANDING PIGMENTATION! I couldn't resist this. At all. It is a gorgeous matte fuchsia (despite these photos not doing it any justice) that lasts longer than many other shades. Not a super wearable shade for me on an everyday basis, but maybe I'll work up the courage soon.

BERRY SMOOTHIE

This is by far my favourite shade in the collection - it is such a wearable colour!! I wear this most days of the week. It is a gorgeous subtle pink that adds the right amount of colour to my lips. It isn't completely matte, but it isn't full of shimmer either. Ah, I just love it!!
I have used it in an everyday autumn make up tutorial here if you'd like to see:

AND SO CONCLUDES MY REVIEW & SWATCHES!
Overall I think these products are totally worth the hype, but not sure about the price in Australia - $21.95! Building my collection is sending me broke! :(

Do you own any of these? Which are your favourites? Which do you think would suit me?! :)
